As many of you know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness (BCA) month. At KARMA for a cure, we love getting involved to support like-minded charities, celebrate survivors and raise donations to find a cure for cancer.
Last weekend, Bloomingdales hosted a philanthropic event called "Get Fit With Pink Yoga" in support of BCA month, with a $10 ticket donation benefiting the Carey Foundation and the Marisa Acocella Marchetto Foundation. The morning yoga class was led by our friends from LifeTime Athletic at Bloomies locations all over the country.
I had the pleasure of attending the Bloomingdales Willowbrook yoga class with my girlfriends, Dana Prigge of Daily Fashionista and Yaudy Cristina of Yaudy Style. I wore my go to weekend piece: the World Peace & Prosecco Knit Sweater, that donates back to cancer research in honor of my father. The early morning class was led by the inspirational and motivational teacher, Brittany Lukas, of LifeTime Athletic, Florham Park. Brittany's yoga class included positive mantras and breathing exercises to clear our minds and begin our day with good intention. The poses were challenging yet rewarding, leaving me feeling grateful, inspired and well stretched. (I highly recommend taking her class if you live nearby a LifeTime location!)
The Bloomingdales event concluded with complimentary pink yoga mats and gift bags from Estée Lauder (skincare), FitJoy (protein bars) and Hint (flavored water) keeping us hydrated, refreshed and fueled. I thank Bloomingdales for using their resources to host a philanthropic event to benefit Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
If every company created events like this, imagine how many people we could help in need...
Love & Light,
P.S. We've been getting many requests to bring back our original "Cop A Feel" for breast cancer awareness t-shirt. If you want to see it make a comeback, email us at email@example.com ;-)
