I recently had the honor to attend a private #TrendSetter Brunch at Neiman Marcus – Short Hills, NJ Location, hosted by Dana Prigge of Daily Fashionista. It was the perfect Sunday Funday event to enjoy with my fellow fashion colleagues and get the NM insider-scoop on Fashion Director, Ken Downing's, Favorite Trends. I wore my favorite and best-selling design, the Jet-Set Fringe Jacket, styled with a sleeve-less black turtleneck, black skinnies and leather booties.
The day included gourmet egg-white frittata's from Neiman's very own Cafe (located on Level Three, and worth every calorie), a private Fashion Presentation in the beautiful "Style Suite" curated by Dana Prigge and an intimate store-wide tour led by the sophisticated and knowledgeable PR Manager, Terry Dragoumis.
Being a Designer, I am keen to pick up on the craftsmanship and detailing that really make pieces unique. I love textures and am drawn to classic pieces with a modern twist. While touring the store, I was immediately drawn to the black and red lacing techniques seen at the Chanel Boutique, the hand-crafted blue masterpiece of a jewelry box by Jay Strongwater, and a black Tom Ford evening gown with mesh inlay that was sexy yet minimalistic. Other speciality items I loved, which are great for holiday gifts: Karl Lagerfeld's Limited Edition Cat "Choupette", Coravin Wine System "Model Two Elite," and Milly Mini's Leather Moto Jacket for kids, which looks exactly like my All Saints Leather Moto I scored while traveling in London.
As a special gift, Neiman's generously allowed me to select a Fall staple from their store. I choose an on-trend yet classic pair of dark denim jeans made by Frame Denim. The style, "le crop mini boot," fit like a glove and was super soft – sold! This will be my go-to pair of denim this season and I will be sharing how to style it with my favorite KARMA pieces, coming soon!
Head back to le blog next week to see how I style le jeans and be the first to see my new KARMA design that I will be styling it with.
Hint: It'll make your friends green with envy.
