OUR STORY & MISSION
Made to travel the world while giving back
WHO WE ARE
KARMA for a cure® by Margaux is a Contemporary Designer Ready-To-Wear brand made to travel the world while giving back. The private label collection combines Founder & Designer, Margaux's, effortless style with her passion for positive social impact. Launched in 2012, KARMA for a cure® is the first-ever philanthropic fashion brand to raise awareness and donate proceeds to charity year-round, inspired by Margaux's beloved father Freddy.
WHY WE DO IT
Freddy - the original Jet-Setter and philanthropist - had a bohemian soul and deep appreciation for nature. He traveled to beaches across the globe to pursue his passion for fishing. He loved the ocean, animals and free-spirited locals he met along the way. He was known for spreading wisdom, peace, positive energy and generosity to his new friends and caring greatly for the natural environment.
Freddy battled cancer for 13 years, passing away peacefully in 2015. Margaux spent many of her young-adult years caring for her father and taking him to treatment centers. It was through this tough journey that led her to create a collection of fashion-forward products with purpose–thus the KARMA for a cure® brand was born. Her last promise to Freddy was to continue his legacy of inspiring others and creating positive impact everyday.
WHAT WE DO
Since 2012, KARMA for a cure® by Margaux has created leading market trends within the women's contemporary apparel market, while raising awareness and donations for charity. Launching with super-soft, hand-drawn t-shirts including the iconic "Smoking Skull©" designed to find a cure for Lung Cancer (loved by Kourtney Kardashian) and "Cop A Feel" to find a cure for Breast Cancer (applauded by Z100 NY Radio), amongst other unique designs "for a cure".
In 2014, the brand expanded into accessories with the "Healing Halo™" crystal head-chain collection to find a cure for Brain Cancer (designed for Henri Bendel's Flagship store), again creating a fashion trend ahead of the curve.
By 2015, the brand launched a complete Ready-To-Wear lifestyle collection for the modern day "jet-setter" (praised in NYFW) with the same mission: to find a cure for cancer. Celebrating Freddy's love for travel combined with Margaux's vision for yet another market trend–the wanderlust era, the "Jet-Set" Collection was born.
THE DETAILS
At KARMA for a cure® by Margaux, attention to detail, quality and craftsmanship is our number one priority. Margaux, an FIT Alumni with an extensive background in designing & marketing luxury goods (Canali, Mercedes Benz, Jones Apparel) thoughtfully designs each style with a women's body and movement in mind. Each garment is made from high-quality yarns and fabrics that are soft, durable and easy to care for. This results in clothing that is comfortable, flattering and timeless. No animals are ever harmed in the making of KARMA products. Dry clean is not required. We believe in preserving the natural environment and support small factories in order to lessen the carbon footprint and reduce waste during the production process.
The collection can be found online and in exclusive pop-up collaborations with luxe resorts such as, Amangani, World Yacht, SLS, and Topping Rose House, amongst others.
CIRCLE OF KARMA
The KARMA "elephant" trademark with the trunk-up is a symbol of good luck. The circle around the elephant represents the circle of karma, "what goes around comes around." You'll find our signature rose gold engraved elephant coin on almost every piece of KARMA. Wear it with positive intention and remember, those who give good karma shall receive it in return.
Jet-set with us and join the movement. Together we will find a cure.
